Dancing for a Miracle: Supporting Oklahoma’s Kids Through the Children’s Health Foundation

Damian Heim of Heim Custom Homes is raising money for the Children’s Health Foundation. Learn how you can support the cause.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be performing a live dance routine in front of a crowd, I probably would’ve laughed. I’m a homebuilder by trade and not exactly known for my dance moves.

But here I am, saying “yes” to something way outside my comfort zone, all for a cause that means the world to me.

This August, I’ll be participating in Dancing for a Miracle, a charity dance competition that raises money for the Children’s Health Foundation. I’ve committed to raising $60,000 by early August, and I’ll be lacing up my shoes and stepping onto that stage to help make it happen.

Why This Matters to Me

As the owner of Heim Custom Homes, I’ve spent my career helping families build their dream homes. It’s personal work: meaningful and rooted in the belief that every family deserves a place to feel safe and supported. That belief doesn’t stop at the job site.

I have a soft spot for kids, and when I learned about the work CHF does for children with medical needs here in Oklahoma, I was moved. I couldn’t sit this one out. Dancing might not be in my wheelhouse, but helping people? That’s something I’ll always say yes to.

What is Dancing for a Miracle?

Dancing for a Miracle is an annual event where Oklahoma leaders and business owners, people like me, are paired with professional dancers to perform live routines in front of a crowd. It’s fun, it’s nerve-wracking, and it’s for an incredible cause.

The event will take place on August 16th, and it brings the community together in a big way. While the dancing is the entertainment, the heart of the night is all about raising funds and awareness for the Children’s Health Foundation.

The Impact of CHF

The Children’s Health Foundation funds pediatric medical research and care programs throughout Oklahoma. Their work ensures that children right here in our state have access to top-tier care without having to worry about financial strain. They support innovative treatments, cutting-edge research, and families who are navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives.

CHF stands in the gap when families need hope the most. Whether it’s supporting research or covering expenses for a family traveling for treatment, their mission is clear: to improve the lives of Oklahoma’s children.

And that’s something I believe in wholeheartedly.

How You Can Help

To meet my fundraising goal of $60,000, I need your support. Whether it’s a donation, a ticket purchase, or simply spreading the word, every little bit adds up.

Here’s how you can be part of this mission:

  • 💛 Donate to my campaign here: Click here to give. Every dollar goes directly to the Children’s Health Foundation.
  • 🎟️ Attend the event on August 16th: Buy tickets or even a table and come cheer me (and the other dancers!) on in person. It’s going to be a night to remember.
  • 📢 Share the story: If you’re not in a place to give, just sharing the link or telling others about CHF helps in more ways than you know. You can be a voice for a child who needs care. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with our fundraising goal and share the message.

This is Bigger Than Me

I’ve built a life and career around helping people create homes they love. But this is about building something even more powerful: a future where Oklahoma’s children can grow up healthy, supported, and full of possibility.

Getting on that dance floor is a challenge, no doubt. But it’s nothing compared to what some of these kids and their families face every day. If dancing for a few minutes helps raise the money needed to give a child access to the care they need, then I’ll dance my heart out.

I’d love for you to join me on this journey. Whether it’s a donation, a seat in the audience, or a simple share on social media, your support means the world to me, to CHF, and to the kids who benefit from it all.

Let’s make miracles happen together.
